Brent Scammell - Owner

Brent is a born and bred Southlander. Raised in Gore, Brent did an apprenticeship as a Motorcycle Engineer then moved into parts and sales. The opportunity to purchase Crawford Honda Centre in Winton came about in 1994 when Brent and Maria approached then owner Noel Crawford to sell. Brent's involvement in motorcycles starting at an early age when his parents purchased a new XR80 for him to share with his sister Jo! Since then Brent has ridden and raced bikes at a highly competitive level throughout New Zealand. In 2012 Brent won 2 NZ titles in the NZ Veterans MX Champs and finished 2nd the following year. He has also raced the Burt Munro Wyndham Street race (Super motard class) 8 times, winning it 3 years in a row, finishing runner up to Josh Coppins and never finishing worse than 4th! Brent has also navigated in a Super boat (Jetsprints) and competes at a National and World level. Best results have been a South Island title and runner up at the World Series Jetsprints in Australia in 2006. Brent racing has quitened down now but he still enjoys getting out on his CRF1100 Africa Twin and CRF 250RX at the odd trail ride. He is also the motocross rep for the Southland Motorcycle Club.
