2016 NZ Farm Jam Date Announced
5 AUGUST 2015
MEDIA RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2016 NZ FARM JAM DATE ANNOUNCED
After a year’s hiatus the legendary New Zealand Farm Jam will return bigger and better than ever in 2016, with organisers announcing the event will be held on 6 February – the Waitangi Day long weekend.
With the last instalment of the iconic two-wheeled action-sports event being held in 2014, Farm Jam organisers Dan and Brett Frew are refreshed and excited about the prospect of evolving their unique jam contest as one of the world’s premier multi-discipline events.
“Taking a year off in 2015 to focus on our families, ride more and catch our breaths has made us all the more excited and passionate about the Farm Jam and its future,” says Brett. “We’ve already been busy putting plans in motion to step things up and make 2016 something really special.”
Held at the bottom of New Zealand’s spectacular South Island, the Farm Jam combines natural-terrain freestyle motocross, BMX dirt- and mountain-bike dirt-jumping. The contest was held annually until 2014 and attracts thousands of passionate spectators and some of the world’s biggest names in two-wheeled action sports to each event.
“2014 saw some incredible riding across all disciplines and the quality of riders we attracted was amazing,” says Dan. “We had riders come from Australia, the UK, the States, and Brazil among many others, which proved just how popular our event is becoming on a global scale. After a year’s break we’re bracing ourselves for an overwhelming response from athletes around the world eager to compete in February.”
As was the case in 2014, the 2016 NZ Farm Jam will have limited entry spots available across FMX, BMX and MTB.

Other Facts
Four wheel independent suspension ensures a plush ride. The rear shocks offer spring preload adjustability to alter the ride for light or heavy loads. The rear suspension also features a stabilizer bar system, reducing body roll when cornering. 24 x 8-12 tires help give the Pioneer 500 a quality steering feel and ride.Power is transmitted to the wheels through a five-speed gearbox with reverse that uses an electric shift system featuring paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. With its 453kg towing capacity and ability to hold a lower gear, the Pioneer 500 has the ability to tackle big jobs in a variety of terrain. Final drive is handled via shaft, and a handy gearshift selector makes it easy to switch from 2WD to 4WD when the going gets tough. To climb into the Pioneer 500, you merely twist the door release knob, and the door and net open together as one unit—an ingenious and simple design. ROPS (Roll Over Protection System) and three-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seat belts are standard equipment. In back a large, flat rear carrier provides a big space and multiple hook points for tie-downs.The Pioneer 500 offers a highly affordable fun alternative for recreational riding, farm work, chores around the lifestyle property and so much more. From side by side enthusiasts to new riders, the Pioneer 500 is likely to become an instant favourite.
